1. Hospitality.
Welcoming in and being attentive to new people is what defines our church and ensures that people feel comfortable in church. We value eating together; breaking bread; spending time with one another and welcoming others into our family.
Hebrews 13:2 – reminds us ‘Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers.’
2. Singing God’s Praises.
We value the gift of song as an expression of our heartfelt love for the God who so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son, to die for our sins, so that all who believe can have eternal life.
In 1 Chronicles 16:9 we are reminded ‘Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.’
3. Prayer.
We believe that prayer is the primary task of the church and that it is the privilege of all who follow Jesus that we can communicate with him in prayer.
Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6 ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’
4. The Bible.
God has revealed himself to us through scripture, and although we don’t worship the Bible, we believe that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore the Bible reveals to us who God is, his saving plan for us, and how we can know him through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’
5. Service and action.
We believe that the deep love of Jesus, should inspire us to
serve God, our Church Family, and others. We are called to be Jesus’ hands and feet in Fleetwood and beyond.
James reminds us: James 2:17 – ‘faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.’
6. Growth.
The growth of the Church and people coming to faith is God’s business, although God does invite us to join in with his work in this world. The church was
initiated by a move of the Holy Spirit and therefore as we pray for God to bring in the lost, we should anticipate growth in our Churches.
Luke reminds us in Acts 2:46-47, about the early church: ‘They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.’
7. Friendship.
Ecclesiastes 4:10 says: ‘If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.’
We value being a church where deep and supportive lifelong friendships our formed. Friends who are there to support in adversity, friends who forgive easily and friends who pray and support one another.
